Tips

Don’ts

• Glitter and/or shimmery highlighter can be distracting because of the lights in the studio 

• High shine lipgloss

• Any foundation that is labeled considered radiant or dewy

• Setting powder to tame oil, it can start to look cakey

Do’s 

• Semi-matte, matte, or natural finish foundation

• HD foundation

• Barrier spray or setting spray first will help tame the oil and sweat

• Moisturize skin so foundation lays on the skin better

Makeup Steps

1. Barrier spray or Setting Spray

2. Eye makeup (only applies if wearing eye makeup)

   • Clean eye makeup fallout

3. Skin prep

   • Moisturizer

   • Lipbalm or chapstick 

   • Primer (if needed, you can skip if you have normal or dry skin)

4. Base

   • Color correct

   • Foundation

   • Eyebrows

   • Concealer

   • Contour/Bronzer

   • Blush

   • Setting powder

5. Lipstick

7. Touch Ups

   • Blotting powder

   • Blurring cream

   • Blotting paper

Eyes

1. Eye shadow primer

2. Eyeshadow

   • Shimmer ONLY on the lid

   • Eyeliner 

3. Curl lashes and apply waterproof mascara

Base

Skin Tones

One of the most important steps to looking natural and not too made on camera is getting your skin tone correct. I suggest a palette with multiple colors because your skin is almost never one color. 

• If you see pink or red, your undertone is cool 

• If you see yellow or orange, your undertone is warm/gold

• If you see green, your undertone is olive

• If you don’t see either or see both, your undertone is neutral 

Color Correct

Color correcting will help hide any discoloration like dark circles.

• Fair/light 

  • Light peach

• Medium

  • Peach 

• Deep

  • Orange or red

HD Foundation

• Liquid

  • Great for medium to full coverage

• Cream

  • Great for fast application and for medium to light coverage

• Pressed powder

  • Great for light coverage

Concealer

Concealer is used to help hide dark circles, cover any stubborn discoloration like acne, or highlight any areas of your face that you would like to bring forward.

Contour/Bronzer

You can sculpt the face by using bronzer or contour products. This will help give your face more dimension or minimize any features. 

• Bronzer

  • Used to warm up the face

• Contour

  • Has a grey undertone to mimic shadows

Blush

Blush helps give you a healthy lit from within glow. 

Setting powder

This will help set all of your cream products in place. It should be applied right after all of your cream and liquid products and before any powder products you would like to add on top.
